The course, open in 1989, was designed by José Gancedo, the “man from Malaga”, one of the most creative golf designers.

The Golf course is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The valley, in which Monte Mayor is laid out, clings to the slopes of Monte Mayor, overlooked by the ancient Monte Mayor Castle.

The fairways of Monte Mayor Golf are seeded with Bermuda 419 (as are Augusta or Valderrrama) and the greens stand among the best in Spain.

Monte Mayor is frequently voted into the Top 5 on the Costa del Sol and remains a MUST to be played.
